Gopher Jewels Recommence 2005

Similar to the later "Yahoo Picks" (but for the Gopher protocol), 
"Gopher Jewels" was a sampling of interesting stuff that could 
be found on Gopher servers.  Its purpose was to provide an 
introduction to persons new to exploring Gopherspace.  

Although extremely popular, the original Gopher Jewels was 
maintained by but a single individual who solicited suggestions and 
explored Gopherspace on his own time.  When he no longer had the 
ability to keep Gopher Jewels updated, he closed the archive in 1995.  

Greatly missing Gopher Jewels, the JumpJet Gopher Server decided 
on the tenth anniversary of the Gopher Jewels closing (2005) to 
create an updated version of Gopher Jewels archive, which contained 
interesting stuff culled from every Gopher server still active.  
GopherJewels-2 remained on the JumpJet server from 2005 until the 
servers sad closing, and was continuously updated on a monthly basis.

For anyone interested in recommencing Gopher Jewels, here is the 
actual Gopher Jewels link structure from the JumpJet Gopher Server. 
The server ran the 32-bit Windows Gopher server software "GopherS".  
GopherS stores its links in simple Text files named "link.gfr", 
which are created within the corresponding directory tree locations.
If you are running GopherS, just drop the structure onto the server.    
If you run a server that uses a different link referencing system, 
it would be simple matter to extract the URLs from these files.
